The SKODA Celtic Cycling Series will host its second event of 2016 in Ennis Co. Clare. The international cycle series is expanded to include a number of new Irish events in 2016. The inaugural SKODA Granfondo Hibernia event will take place on the August bank Holiday Sunday 31st July 2016.
The event announced by SKODA will bring cyclists on a spectacular tour of south, west and mid Clare and along the Wild Atlantic Way, Loop Head and the Shannon Estuary. It is hoped that the cycle event will become an annual event hosted in Ennis and mark the first of a number of legacy events from the Clare’s County of Culture designation.
SKODA opened its first Clare garage in Ennis, Al Hayes SKODA on the Gort Road, Ennis. The SKODA Celtic Series also includes the popular Tour de Conamara which sold out after 46 days. The third leg of the Irish series is the Stephen Roche Boyne Valley Classic that will start and finishes in Drogheda in Drogheda.
Registration for the SKODA Granfondo Hibernia opens on Monday 28th March. Numbers for the event are limited.
