2023 SKODA Ring of Clare Cycle Rider Pack

Event Details
Event Start Times – The 160km starts at 9.00am and the 120km starts at 9.30am from Clarecastle GAA grounds (located on the Limerick side of Ennis). EIRCODE V95 T275 – Onsite parking is provided with shower facilities on site also available. Please arrive in plenty of time to avoid traffic congestion.

PARKING – PLEASE NOTE CHANGES ON PARKING FOR THIS YEARS EVENT.
There is plenty of Parking is available in Clarecastle GAA but please arrive early to avoid traffic congestion.
NB: Access to the Car park will be closed at 8.40am to allow the 160km cycle depart. Please arrive in plenty of time to get parked up and collect your event id and goodie bag.

Drop offs: Cyclists being dropped off to the event will have to drop off at the church grounds as cars who enter the GAA grounds will not be able to exit until the cycle leaves. This is to avoid congestion at the entrance to the GAA Club and delay the event. This will be strictly enforced.

CAMPER VANS
Camper vans are able to park in the GAA grounds overnight but do so under their own responsibility. YOU ARE ASKED TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO THE GAA CLUB FOR THIS ACCESS. We have dedicated camper van parking in Clarecastle GAA. If you plan on overnighting you will be directed to parking close to the club facilities. You will not be able to leave this parking area until after 6pm on the day of the event for rider safety. The GAA Club are providing free overnight parking on their facilities but this is the only condition attached to it.

Clarecastle GAA will have a coffee shop open on the morning of the event if you want to buy tea / coffee before you set off.

EVENT SIGN ON DETAILS
Event sign on – you will be able to sign on for the event at ŠKODA Al Hayes, Gort Road, Ennis (Friday 21st 4.00pm – 8.00pm) and Clarecastle GAA on the morning of the event from 7.30am. If you qualified to receive an event jersey you will receive it at the event sign on. A number of event jerseys will be available for sale after the event in Clarecastle GAA.

Registration Form – Eventmaster will send you a reminder email and follow up by text message with a link to your registration form. This will be scanned and you will receive your event number and ID.

Please note if you attempt to cycle the event under someone else’s name without going through the event transfer system you do so at your own risk and are not covered by the event. ID may be requested at sign on to verify details.

Check your bike -Please check your bike before the cycle. The majority of technical issues happen in the first 20km of the event as cyclists do not check their bike. Pump your wheels before the spin and bring spare tubes. A bike mechanic will be located at each of the food stops but you may experience delays waiting for mechanics so please have your bike checked.

ŠKODA Cycling Experience – ŠKODA will host registration at Al Hayes ŠKODA Garage on Friday evening from 4.00pm to 8.00pm. A bike mechanic will be there for any last minute tweaks to your bike. The bike mechanic will also be at the event start on the morning of the event. The masseuse team from IMST will provide post cycle massages at the ŠKODA Dome at Clarecastle GAA. At the end of the event each cyclist will be provided with their medal and food to recover after their efforts.

Water Stations – The water stations only provide water for cyclists. These are not food stops so please use the designated feed stations for your solid food fuelling.

WHEN YOU FINISH
When you return to Clarecastle GAA you will be presented with your event medal. Masseuses will be on hand in the ŠKODA dome.
Cyclists will be provided with pasta and ice cream after the event in Clarecastle GAA while the event podium is waiting for cyclists to mark the completion of their 160km or 120km journey.

Clarecastle GAA club will also be running a BBQ as a club underage fundraiser if people would like to buy a burger. €5 a burger.
